Hotel for Lease/Rent in the Kite Boarding Hot Spot – Kalpitiya Sri Lanka
We are exploring the possibility of Leasing/Renting our hotel with 25 rooms in the Kite Surfing Hot Spot of Kalpitiya, North West Province of Sri Lanka to run a Kite School facility.
Hotel has all the conveniences, Spacious Rooms, large kitchen, restaurant, Main Pool, 7 Villas with Plunge pools each and 4 acres of land on the Lagoon beach overlooking the sea beach separated by a Sand Bank just 300 meters across.
We are looking to identify a partner who is willing to lease/rent the property completely with all the fittings and fixtures could be offering the service as a JV partner, service provider or who even take over management of the hotel.

Under the circumstances, the best and closest place that comes to mind where you can safely learn with a qualified instructor is probably Durban. I know back in the day, the Kitesports guys in Durban were running a school or lessons at least up in Maputo, but I’m not sure if they are still doing that. Their contact details are at the top of this page if you want to ask them.

But since you want to actually go on holiday, you could consider Durban. In that case, get in touch with either Kitesports and/or Ocean2Air (contact details at the top of this page as well) . Let them know Brendon from inMotion Kitesurfing recommended them… ;-)

Another great place to learn kiteboarding would be Langebaan in the Cape, but that’s going to be a bit far for you., There you have more chance of wind and they’ve got nice flat water.

Other than that, nothing else comes to mind. Richards Bay would be closer, but I’m not aware of any schools up there, and it isn’t the easiest place to learn.

Your plan sounds great… and Cape Town is probably the best spot in South Africa to do what you are planning, as this is where instructor certification takes place. Although I have heard that there is no longer a permanent instructor trainer based in CT, so you may have to get your timing right with course dates etc.

Your best bet is to contact any or all of the schools listed on this page in the Cape Town section and tell them your plans. From there you can decide which one can accommodate your requests the best.

Insane mix oaks… I am a Yacthy that has this dream to arrive in the caribbean in a year from now and kite some of the best spots known to man… My plan is to rock up in CT next year this time and commit myself to a kite course taking me from beginner to instructor. I am not sure how long this will take but time is not the issue nor is money… I am looking for a school that is going to provide me with accommodation, professionally equipped with all the right kit and the right environment that suites this life style we all pursue.

All I am asking is for a price from beginner to instructor, a time frame and list of facilities that you include.
